1. Making sense of this framework if you are working with under 3s:

Understand the framework you work within and the associated expectations that come with it. Learn How to harness it to achieve the targets that you set for children and find out how to build on the latest best practice.

2. Starting with the child

Planning for the Under 3s through observation

Understand why observation really matters. Develop your own methods based upon best practice and discover how to push your teaching performance by adopting an ‘experience’ approach to planning.

This course is particularly aimed at for people new to this area of child care.

3. Organised Chaos

The importance of room organisation for the under 3s

Existing practice indoors and out. Understand the role of free-flow play and develop strategies to manage it effectively. Establish ways to organise your room for free-flow play and use the framework within which you work to promote free-flow play best.

This course is particularly for practitioners working with Under 3s, particularly those new to the framework.

4. What’s inside your basket?

A look at the importance of Heuristic play and treasure baskets

Find out how to raise the awareness of individual practice for the Under 3s. Analyse and understand the importance of heuristic play and how it can be planned, delivered and assessed through the birth-to-three framework.

5. I am almost three….

How to develop an effective learning environment for 2-3 year olds

This course will look at the importance of developing independence in toddlers. We will particularly look at:-

  • How to plan effectively
  • Developing free flow play
  • Organising your room
  • Encouraging children to make choices
  • The adults role
